Welcome! To the wonderfully chaotic lands of MONSTERS SHALL DIE! (we are contractually obligated to keep the title in all capitals whenever it appears in this text… or maybe we aren't and just like to do it for fun.) Your being here could be one of a couple reasons. First, you may have known about my work either from me personally or from a friend and came to check out the soul sucking project of mine that is making my own TTRPG. (Table Top Role Playing Game for the uninitiated) Second, You are merely curious about new TTRPG’s and stumbled across this one by complete accident. Or most likely, Third, you have been soul bound in a pact with an Aberrant entity from beyond our realm and is forcing you to read this text until your brain melts out your ears.
No matter the reason, we’re glad to have you. (why am i saying we, it's literally only me working on this project) MONSTERS SHALL DIE is a TTRPG built on Chaos, Player Ingenuity and a lack of balanced mechanics. This is not a game of yor, designed specifically to be perfectly balanced for normal play and to be mastered by competitive players This is a game for the minmaxer and the other players who favor a more variable and ill-thought-out ruleset that can be bent into places It was never meant to be. So by all means, break this game! It's how it's meant to be played. This game is designed to give players freedom to create who they want to be within the bounded (but many) options during character creation. Beyond character creation though, is a world of limitless possibilities. You can forge who you would like to be and to create the stories and legends you would like to be a part of.
Now, many of you are most likely experienced gamers and are probably thinking, “alright, what am I getting myself into now?” Well let me avail you of your fears. (or maybe bring them to the forefront depending on what you were hoping for) MONSTERS SHALL DIE! Is a levelless, classless TTRPG where progression is made through the collection of artifacts you acquire and the amount of Magical Augmentation you undergo. The game is only as complicated as you choose to make it. Choose simpler Starting Attributes at the beginning to make an easily understood (mechanically speaking) character, or dabble with the more advanced options for a mind binding time of complicated and optional rules. It's all in your hands.
